Structures Manager



Job Description – Structures Manager

This exciting opportunity will involve the following;



To manage a team of supervisors, direct employed operatives and specialist contractors involved in the maintenance, repair and upgrading of bridges and structures in Hertfordshire.



To ensure that work is delivered on time, to standard and within budget.



To ensure all programme dates are met.



To be main point of contact for both client and design team



Requirements

• HNC Civil Engineering or equivalent,

• Minimum 5 years experience in Civil Engineering and Highway Construction Environment managing structures works,

• Experience in undertaking structural design for highways structures,

• Experience of the technical approval process for highways structures,

• Experience of team management and development,

• Knowledge of Word, Excel and MS Project,

• Good leadership skills with the ability to demonstrate authority over all direct reports.



Responsibilities

Resource and deliver Structures Works that form part of the Integrated Works Programme (IWP) and maintenance works for the County and have responsibility and accountability for managing profit and loss for all works carried out.



Liaise with Schemes Managers, Design Team Members, Sub Contractors and Service Management Team Managers about current and future works to ensure a even spend profile is maintained all year round for all Structures works.



Attend weekly reporting meetings and provide detailed information about the status of programme and progress on all works that form part of the IWP Programme including financial information with detailed breakdowns on budgets, forecasts, costs, profit and loss.



Adopt and work with my client and Hertfordshire Highways including all sub contractors on quality, Safety and environment as nominated within associated plans and ensure that high standards are maintained on all sites at all times.



Provide Management, Leadership and Direction for the Structures Team and ensure continuous improvement, versatility and experience of all team members is developed.
